Why Gaming isn't a waste of Time
Many people view video games as just a waste of time and something that won't benefit you at all. But a lot of people only see the kid sitting in front of the screen playing games they don't really see anything else. There is a lot more in gaming than just actually playing the game there is a whole community around it.
Gaming is a community where you can hang out with people who share the same interests you do, with people who live across the country or even across the world. After watching a Ted Talk from the founder of twitch about how gaming is a real community it really opened my eyes to what gaming really is how it gives you things that you can't find anywhere else.
Gaming is something that can really bring people together. I can speak from experience. I've met some really great people while playing video games and I've been playing with them for years. Gaming also is like an escape from reality and lets you do things you could never do in real life.
Another thing that gaming can bring is career options and tournaments with money prizes. Gaming every year gets more and more competitive with bigger and better prizes. If you are good enough you can win thousands of dollars. As well as you can get noticed by clans and get recruited. You could make even more money off of that. With careers, there are many different options. One career you go into is game development where you can work on creating your own game. Another career you could go into is video games tester and software developer/ computer programmer.
This is the part of gaming that most people don't see the reason why gaming should be seen as more than just someone staring at screen playing games. Gaming is a massive community where everyone can come together and enjoy something with other people who enjoy the same thing as you do.

How common is it for people to make money from video games? And how much money can one make?
ReplyDeleteDon't forget internal citations for the images too.
I do fine your topic very interesting, but how much to this people make on average or yearly, I feel is you had add this detail it would make your point more affective and persuasive. Over all, it was a fun read
ReplyDeleteDude I totally agree, many people doubted but there is so much money in this industry, and I'm glad I could make some out of it and have fun with it too. Do you think that people will one day be tired of video games?
ReplyDeleteThank you Mateo. Also I don't think people will ever get tired of gaming because it continues to grow and will only get bigger as time goes on.
DeleteI agree that gaming is much more than what meets the eye and I like how you put your own personal example in here. You talked about the importance of gaming community and i completely agree. I think thats a really big part of video games for sure. Overall great post.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your statement Connor. When do you think one would know when they'd be able to make gaming a full time job and still support them and, their family financially? I bring this up as this industry can be very a very risky thing as anything can happen overnight.
ReplyDeleteIts hard to really know when you can make it a full time job. But I would say when you have a solid fan base and you can see yourself still having this fan base 10 or 20 years down the road.
DeleteI've never really understood gaming and how you can get so into it, but after reading your blog I've come to see that gaming is like another world for you to get into, to get away from reality and just enjoy yourself.
