The NFL & Covid

Covid no doubt has had a massive impact on everyone's lives. As well as many businesses have been affected. But the businesses that have been affected the most are the ones in the entertainment industry. One in particular is the NFL. The NFL has had many struggles this year with covid and how their season will go. Many procedures have been put into place for the players so that the chances of getting it are as slim as possible.

The NFL is doing its best to try to stop the spread of covid. But at the beginning of the season that did not go so well with numerous teams getting covid and games having to be rescheduled. But on Oct 1st they started this thing called intensive protocol which has worked to stop the spread of covid much better.

Everyday players are required to be tested before they enter their team facility. As well as all of the players wear masks when inside the building. Players also need to test negative from the day before to enter the facility. They are also having things like meeting outside or virtually.

Meals and locker rooms are also a big concern which is why they have decided to have things like meals a quick grab and go and things like locker rooms are discouraged to use unless it is game day. Another thing that has been prohibited by the policies of the NFL is hanging with people outside of the facility. If a player were to get covid 19 they have to have 5 days of an isolation period if they are identified as a high-risk close contact. Then they are tested after that.

During games, coaches are required to wear masks at all times and so are the players when they are in the locker room before and after games. Teams will be fined if they do not follow these rules and they can lose things such as draft picks. If the teams keep following this protocol then the NFL should be able to make it through the rest of the season with limited problems.

    1. No I don't think so because from what I have seen this year players are doing just fine with the protocols.
